The Foundation was established in 1968 to provide Rupert and Ruth Dunklau a systematic method of gifting to God’s people a portion of the blessings God had given them.
The Foundation exists to glorify God and serve His gracious will, by providing financial resources for the varied ministries related to the Lutheran tradition, especially the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, educational entities of the Lutheran Church and appropriate projects that promote the welfare of mankind.
Initial funding took place when the Foundation was established, and additional funding has occurred periodically since that time. In 1998 the Foundation received a major infusion of funds from the estate of Ruth E. Dunklau, Rupert’s first wife, who was taken home to be with her Savior on November 27th, 1998. Then, on February 3, 2016, the Lord called Rupert to Himself. And, on September 20, 2018, the Lord called Rupert’s second wife, Ruth King Dunklau, to Himself. The initial funding and the additional fundings provide the corpus for carrying out the Foundation objectives.
